5 Free Ways to Grow Your Audience From Zero
You don't need ads, fancy equipment or a big following to start growing online. Here are five free strategies that actually move the needle.
1. Comment your way to visibility
Spend 15 minutes a day leaving genuinely helpful comments on bigger accounts in your niche. Not "great post!" — actual value. People check profiles of smart commenters, and a percentage will follow you.
2. Post consistently on ONE platform
The algorithm rewards consistency more than perfection. Three average posts a week beats one perfect post a month. Pick a posting schedule you can actually keep, and protect it.
3. Use search-friendly captions and titles
Social platforms are search engines now. Before posting, ask: what would my ideal follower type to find this? Put those words in your caption, your title and your on-screen text.
4. Create one "pillar" piece and slice it
Write one genuinely useful long post (like this one). Then turn it into:
- 3–5 short posts
- A carousel
- A short video script
- An email to your list
One idea, five pieces of content. That's how small creators look prolific.
5. Start your email list on day one
Followers are borrowed; email subscribers are yours. Even a simple free guide in exchange for an email works — my [free resources](/resources) do exactly that. When a platform changes its algorithm (it always does), your list is the safety net.

None of these costs money. All of them cost consistency. Pick two, do them daily for 30 days, and you'll be ahead of most people who are still "researching".
